Metro TV

AAM Journalism Fellow Shanti Ruwyastuti, Deputy Chief Editor of Metro TV, worked with AAM in Washington to produce a one-hour prime time documentary about US-Indonesian relations in the Spring of 2010, which broadcast in prime time in anticipation of President Obama’s visit.

The documentary focused on issues ranging from international U.S.-Indo educational exchanges; the lobbying industry in the US and how it works with international governments and businesses; health care reform; and military cooperation between the US and Indonesia.

During Shanti’s visit, she also gave a lunchtime talk to the Southeast Asia Studies students at Johns Hopkins School for Advance International Studies about the role of social media in fighting corruption in Indonesia, and a talk to the USINDO Society about the highly controversial Bank Century Case in Indonesia.
