Rasha Serry is the senior news and program presenter for Egypt’s Nile News as well as the host of the bi-weekly prime time talk show, “Live from Cairo.” Rasha joined Nile TV International in 1995 as editor-in-chief and reporter, and after three years she was one of the leading presenters on Nile TV.
During her Fellowship with AAM, Serry produced five talk show programs for primetime broadcast on Nile News. Topics included conflict in the Middle East, strategy toward Iran, the role of the media in the US and the Middle East, and the role of arts and culture in bridging the divide between the US and the Middle East. Guests included Salman Ahmad, musician and UN Goodwill Ambassador; Cynthia Schneider, Head of the Arts and Culture Initiative of the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution; Marvin Kalb, whose 30-year career includes award-winning reporting at CBS and NBC News as Chief Diplomatic Correspondent, Moscow Bureau Chief, and host of "Meet the Press"; Rob Malley, Middle East and North Africa Program Director for the International Crisis Group; and Richard Eisendorf, a specialist in international media and peace building at Freedom House.
Rasha started her career as a reporter to the English and Arabic desk with Reuters News Agency upon graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the American University in Cairo in 1994.
