Frank Mancuso, Sr., former Chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), joins America Abroad Media Board of Advisors
Washington, D.C. (January 5, 2017) – America Abroad Media (AAM) announced today that former Chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), Frank Mancuso, Sr., has joined AAM’s Board of Advisors.
One of the most respected studio executives in the entertainment and communication industry, Mancuso has enjoyed a highly distinguished career spanning more than four decades. During his tenure as Chairman/CEO of MGM, he successfully revived the renowned studio by rebuilding both its film and television operations, acquiring both Orion Pictures Corporation and PolyGram Filmed Entertainment; oversaw such films as Stargate, Species, Get Shorty, The Birdcage, Ronin and The Thomas Crown Affair; and successfully shepherded the return of the widely heralded James Bond franchise with the release of Golden Eye, Tomorrow Never Dies, and The World is Not Enough.
Mr. Mancuso came to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. after a thirty-two year career at Paramount Pictures Corporation. During his tenure as CEO of Paramount, Mr. Mancuso partnered with MCA/Universal to build the USA cable network into one of the most-watched cable networks in the country; established Paramount Broadcast Group with the acquisition of the six TVX television stations; oversaw the release of films such as Top Gun, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Crocodile Dundee, Fatal Attraction, The Untouchables, The Hunt for Red October, Ghost, Godfather III, Indiana Jones, Beverly Hills Cop and Star Trek; and oversaw successful television series such as Cheers, Family Ties, and Star Trek: The Next Generation, among others.
